Event Profile

Ipswich Farmers' Market

    • Event Description:
The county of Suffolk, steeped in farming and agricultural history and heritage, finally gets
its own Farmers’ Market in the county town.
There will be some fantastic products at the market which will really show off all the fabulous local
and artisan producers there are in Suffolk including locally reared, traditionally butchered pork from Greenacres, award winning beef and lamb from Heath Farm, fresh fish and seafood, beautiful garden plants and stunning cut flowers plus freshly baked sourdoughs from the Cake Shop in Woodbridge, jams and preserves from The Jam Shed, goat cheeses from Skylark Farm in Bawdsey, spices and cooking sauces from Choose Spice and Bala Chang as well as some handcrafted gins and beers!

Street food trucks will be providing delicious Mac N Cheese and slow cooked pulled pork as
well as other stalls including gluten free and vegan pastries and donuts, Suffolk Honey, Fabulous
Funghi with their mushrooms and a huge variety of teas. Look out for Poppies Farm from Purdis
Farm who are bringing their microgreen and fresh vegetables plus their homemade honey

This will be a market where customers can talk to the actual producer and really get to know about the product they are about to buy. Everything that is sold at the market will be produced by the person who is selling and nothing will have travelled further than approximately 30 miles to be in Ipswich. We also plan to have a small number of high quality, locally made craft and seasonal guest traders selling items such as fresh game and plants. Visit the Cornhill for the launch of the farmers market on 7th April and make a day of it in Ipswich - you won't be disappointed!
